RL view. Headlight doors (chrome rings) will stay off until the lights are aligned.

That's it so far for pictures. I am currently working on the interior. I have
installed some carpet, the radio and dash support and newly veneered dash. As
time allows, I will recover the vinyl side panels, install the seats and have
the headliner replaced.

I hope to drive the GT6 this summer. I have already been practicing my biggest
grin.

Update : 24 Mar 2000

I'm just now putting brake and clutch fluid into the systems, checking for smooth
operation and (lack of) leaks.

Update : 27 November 2000

My GT6 is still in the garage. After 5 months in the upholstery shop for a headliner,
the carbs dried out and have to be cleaned up. The engine runs, but it's flooding.
While it was sitting, a crack occurred in the fuel line, so it must be replaced. I just
put new rotoflex couplings into it along with inboard universal joints. I'll try to finish
up the interior through the winter. I WILL drive it next summer come hell or
high water!

Update : 02 April 2002

COMPLETED AT LAST !

My 1970 GT6 was finally completed in July 2001. The inaugural trip was to a local car show.
Though I was not an official participant, the car attracted lots of looks and questions. A
week before, I was unable to keep the new engine running due to a faulty float in one carb.
Once identified the problem was solved with a replacement part.

Those looking at these pictures as reference for a restoration should know that the silencer
is not stock, nor does it silence anything. I will replace it this year. Additionally, the splash
guards around the engine are now plastic in place of the pressed cardboard originals.
When I tried to have the front wheels aligned I was told that the steering rack was loose in
its mounts. I have the new rubber mounts now and will be installing them soon. There is
an electric antenna installed on the RR wing.

The car runs very well and is a real thrill to drive. The tachometer jumps to red line
quickly (I must have the carb.s set fairly close). Legal speeds are easily attained ... and
more. I had forgotten how perception of speed is magnified the closer your butt is to the
ground, and 8 inches is pretty close
!

I have attached pictures of the finished car here so you can complete the great pictorial
essay you started. I hope you enjoy them. I direct quite a few people to your site to
view the car. Though I realize that your interests have changed, they all like the GT6 site.

Webmasters Note :  Well, I think everyone visiting this site will all agree with me that this
is one gorgeous GT6 !  The mk2 (GT6+) has always been my favourite out of all the
GT6's, and it's so nice to see one in an unusual (but genuine) colour.  And just check
out those panel gaps !!  Congratulations Ken, you must be very proud of your "new" baby :-)
